Notes
Notes, starting now
For years this site was one page: a short intro and a few project cards. That was the right size, and part of me wanted to keep it that way. A blog is a small ongoing maintenance cost and a standing invitation to procrastinate.
I added one anyway.
Most of what I learn building things never leaves my head. It sits in commit messages, in half-written docs, in a sentence I say to someone once and forget. When I try to explain a decision later, I often find I never actually finished thinking it through. Writing forces that. If I can't write the reason down, I didn't have one.
So this is where that goes. Short pieces about building and shipping software on my own: the tradeoffs, the things I got wrong, the tools I kept and the ones I dropped. Not advice. Just what happened and what I took from it.
Irregular by design. I write when there is something worth writing, and I would rather post four times a year and mean it than keep a schedule.
